Catalog and Projects

Product Catalog

SIX 2013 offers significant improvements to help users manage product information and pricing – which is the main driver of D-Tools’ data-driven process. Significant improvements have been made around product usage and pricing – including the ability for users to manage up to 12 price levels, as well as improvements to Price Rules and working with pricing across projects.

Price Types– SIX 2013 enables users to configure up to 12 levels of pricing in the product catalog. These user-configurable price types enable users to manage and apply pricing for a variety of scenarios.

Price Rules – Users can now construct Price Rules across price types, giving even more control and flexibility over pricing for complex jobs.

Find Usages and Replace – Gives users the ability find products or labor that are used as accessories or used in Packages and select a replacement product or labor unit. This feature can also be used as an “Audit” function to find discontinued products and replace with a current project.

MVP Download Center – The MVP download center enables users to get updated product information, company news, and in some cases dealer pricing from D-Tools MVP Manufacturer partners through the SIX 2013 Data Browser. A re-designed products section with new/featured products for download as well as messages from select MVPs make it even easier for users to find the right products to build their catalogs.

New in SI 2015

Price Rules Improvements– Price Rules have been updated to now include Margin and Markup as criteria, giving users more flexibility and control over pricing, and price fields store 4 decimals for greater accuracy in currency conversion. Price Rules can be applied across price types, giving even more control and flexibility over pricing for complex jobs.

Additional Mass Update Options – D-Tools’ Prompt and Recommend options for product and labor accessories can be mass updated, making it easier to create the perfect product mix and reduce errors when specifying products for client engagements.

Package and I/O Editor Improvements – The D-Tools Package and I/O Studio editors have been improved for greater visibility and workflow. The new split view in the Package editor makes it easy to see item count when creating packages, and users can now set a starting point for auto number incrementing from the I/O Studio.

SIX 2013 boasts a number of productivity enhancements around project creation, editing, and management.  From subtle UI enhancements to specific features, users will benefit from improved workflow and time-savings for many of the operations used on a daily basis.

Compare with Catalog – Enables users to compare products or labor in a project with catalog items to check current pricing, labor hours, phase, etc. This functionality works across common database fields and allows the user to quickly filter results to show all, similar, or dissimilar items, then make changes, update from/to catalog, or export to PDF or Excel.

Split Bulk Wire – Split Bulk Wire allows a “bulk wire” to be split into wire runs of specific lengths (splits). This helps users quickly estimate a bulk amount (spool) of wire, then specifically designate that wire into specific runs (with varying lengths if desired) when entering the design stage of a project.

Productivity Improvements – A number of feature enhancements have been added to improve project workflow in such areas as locations, working with and adding products/labor to existing packages, cloning/replacing products, and UI settings.
