Tip of the Month – Selling via Mobile Quote 2.0
Enhance your Sales – Selling via Mobile Quote 2.0
Make the Most of your “Face Time” with a Client.
So thinking back over my 20+ years in the industry, I cannot even begin to calculate a total number for all the times I was asked by a client during an initial meeting or walkthrough; “So how much is that?” Or maybe you’ve heard this one; “So what’s this going to run me?”
To be fair, these are legitimate questions for a perspective client to ask a contractor when reviewing a project (especially on-site). And while some aspects of a project (like LED TV and speaker pricing) may be easy to quote on site, other project elements like automated shades, lighting control, or touch-panel control of system components may be almost impossible.
While there are several ways to deal with this scenario via technology in today’s world, there may not be a solution quite like D-Tools’ Mobile Quote 2.0. It’s always impressive to utilize devices of the latest technology when meeting with prospective clients. And as sale numbers would indicate, Apple’s i-Pad certainly impresses and so will Mobile Quote 2.0.
Once configured, your Mobile Quote 2.0 app will enable access to items from your SI Catalog or from embedded sample data. You’ll be able to, not only populate items from your catalog, but also packages along with room/location and system assignments. This will give you the ability to very accurately create realistic budgets for your clients while you engage in an impromptu walk-around or preliminary meeting. This is a tool I would have greatly utilized when I was meeting with prospective clients.
Let’s take a closer look: here’s how easy it is to create a quote.
- First (once synchronized with your catalog), from the “My Quotes” page, you simply select the “+” button and then…
…fill-in the blanks with regards to your project’s details.
You will also then have the option to set other project parameters such as project type (i.e. residential, commercial, or your customized option), price/quality level (good, better, or best), meeting objective, as well as a scope of work.
- Second – Now simply Add Items or packages to your rooms/locations based on the systems you listed for the project.
Your list of packages and/or items will then appear for selection.
- Next – Now that you’ve got some items and/or packages populated on your quote…
…you can review the summations with your client by location…
…or system.
Whichever you choose, your client will be able to review these values along with a breakdown of equipment and labor amounts.
By room/location:
By system:
- Finally – Should you wish it, you can email this quote directly to your client and even have them approve the quote before doing so.
And that’s it. Within the time necessary to walk the site or review the details with your prospective client, you’ve created a quote with a realistic, working budget that your client can have confidence in as they weigh their options and make their decision.
The D-Tools Mobile Quote 2.0 app enables users to streamline what is sometimes a lengthy process in order to provide a quick but accurate budgetary estimate and answer that age old question of “So what are we looking at for all of this?”
And that’s the genius of this app. By enabling users of SI 2017 to provide “impromptu” pricing for their clients, Mobile Quote 2.0 has the tools you’ve been looking for to enhance your design and quoting capabilities while at the same time offering an efficient way to increase professionalism and stay ahead of your competition.
