New Altronix 5-Port Hardened Switch Supports up to Four IP Access Controllers in a Single Enclosure

NetWay5B greatly reduces installation costs by eliminating the need and costs associated with running dedicated cables for each deployed device. It features five 10/100/1000 data ports with speed/activity LED indicators, and is powered via PoE or any 12 or 24VDC UL listed power source. As with all Altronix products, the new NetWay5B is manufactured in the U.S.A., and backed by a lifetime warranty.
Also available is the BR1 Mounting Bracket, which lets you mount additional Altronix sub-assemblies to the enclosure’s side wall. It is compatible with the NetWay5B, PD4UL(CB), PD8UL(CB), PDS8(CB), LINQ8PD(CB), ACM4(CB), MOM5(CB) and VR6 to facilitate more devices and save enclosure space. This add-on mounting bracket, compatible with Trove and Maximal series enclosures, makes it even easier for system expansion.
Atlona Amplifies Omega Series with New Multi-Format Switcher
Atlona, a Panduit company, adds another important layer to its rapidly-growing Omega™ Series of switching, extension, and video processing solutions for modern AV communications and collaboration. The AT-OME-MS42 is 4×2 matrix switcher that delivers exceptional performance and value for 4K/UHD presentation and video conferencing applications in small-to-medium AV environments, including meeting rooms, conference rooms, and lecture halls. It will also be available as the AT-OME-MS42-KIT with a companion AT-OME-EX-RX HDBaseT receiver.
The OME-MS42 combines the benefits of auto-switching for USB-C, HDMI, and DisplayPort, plus integrated display control and USB extension, offering flexible capabilities for 4K presentation and software video conferencing applications. Selectable AV switching modes across HDBaseT and HDMI outputs enable simple configuration and effortless ease of use tailored to a specific application. When used with the OME-EX-RX receiver or OME-SR21 scaling receiver, the OME-MS42 can be remotely powered over HDBaseT.
The OME-MS42 includes USB 2.0 and USB-C interfaces for extension to three host computers, plus two peripheral devices such as a camera, microphone, speakerphone, or keyboard and mouse. As one of the few USB-C equipped switchers available today, the OME-MS42 enables clutter-free, single-cable connectivity for 4K video presentations, video conferencing and interactive collaboration projects, with immediate compatibility to laptops and mobile devices with USB-C ports.
The OME-MS42 is HDCP 2.2 compliant and features HDBaseT extension for video up to 4K/60 4:2:0, plus embedded audio, control, Ethernet, and USB over distances up to 330 feet (100 meters). All inputs and the local HDMI output support 4K/60 4:4:4 at HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps. Additionally, 4K downscaling to 1080p @ 60, 30, or 24 Hz is available for the HDMI output when connected to an HD display or other destination device.
AudioQuest SLiP XTRM 14/2 and 14/4
AudioQuest’s in-wall CL3/FT4 FLX and SLiP Series speaker cables have been the installer’s best friend for many years. However, installers have often asked for a product that offers even higher performance while maintaining SLiP’s already outstanding ease of use. The new SLiP XTRM cables are our response to that demand. As with the original models, SLiP XTRM retain the standard-setting super-slippery, easy-to-pull CL3/FT4-rated jacket, as well as the convenient feet and meter markings.
Two differences have a profound effect on overall performance: First, the conductors in SLiP XTRM feature a more advanced form of Semi-Solid Concentric design called True Concentric. Semi-Solid Concentric conductors use fewer, larger strands that do not change position down the length of the cable. True-Concentric conductor technology pushes this concept even further, with each successive conductor layer spiraling in the opposite direction of the underlying layer. The strand interaction created by electrical contact is meaningfully reduced as there is now more contact pressure at the points of contact, rather than lines of contact. The result is lower distortion, improved resolution, and greatly reduced harshness.
Second, while the central area of SLiP XTRM conductors use low-distortion Long-Grain Copper (LGC), the outermost conductor layer is made of Perfect-Surface Copper (PSC) with its astonishingly smooth surface. This outer layer of conductors is most responsible for SLiP XTRM’s seductive clarity and smoothness. Careful application of PSC and LGC enables performance approaching that of a full-PSC conductor, but at a much friendlier price.

At Infocomm 2019 booth 1955, RTI showcased its latest media distribution and collaboration solutions for houses of worship, restaurants, lecture halls, and meeting spaces. Products on display included the new VXU-SC Conferencing and Collaboration System, the VMS-741 Quad MultiViewer, and the VXP-82 All-In-One Presentation System.
Making its debut at InfoComm 2019, the VXU-SC video conferencing and collaboration system enables multiple users to interact easily with soft-codec conferencing solutions such as Microsoft Skype®, Cisco WebEx®, and Citrix GoToMeetings®.
