Atlas+Fyne IsoFlare™ Series Wins Pro AV Best in Market 2023 Award
The accolades continue to roll in for the Atlas+Fyne IsoFlare™ Series, the company’s new premium loudspeaker line, as it has received Future Brands’Pro AV Best in Market 2023 Awardfor System Contractor News (SCN).
The Pro AV Best in Market awards recognize new or newly upgraded products within the last 12 months, with entries judged based on a range of criteria by independent, third-party judges and Future’s editorial teams. The Best in Market awards program started in 2021, and this is the first year for the SCN category in the awards.
The IsoFlare in-ceiling loudspeakersannounced in 2023 are the first products developed as part of AtlasIED’s strategic investment in Fyne Audio. The loudspeakers use the latest design techniques and tools to create the next generation in point source technology, delivering outstanding off-axis clarity across all frequency ranges.
Ideal for hospitality, retail, corporate, and educational markets, the series consists of seven models, including blind mount models in four, six, and eight-inch sizes, a four-inch low profile model, an eight-inch subwoofer, and two pre-install models.
The IsoFlare in-ceiling loudspeakers offer an edgeless grille design in either square or round and black and white options to cater for the most demanding architectural constraints. The speakers incorporate a patented toolless dog leg mounting mechanism for quick and secure installation on all models. Performance and aesthetics were a significant consideration, providing the architect, designer, and installer with an attractive and versatile solution for various applications.
AudioQuest’s new PowerQuest 303, 505, and 707 are high-performance power conditioners with Linear Noise-Dissipation, Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection, Extreme-Voltage Shutdown, and 12 AC outlets (4 High-Current outlets for amplifiers and 8 Linear-Filtered outlets for source components).
Each PowerQuest model ships with a 2m detachable AC power cable and 2RU rack ears. For installers, this means a PowerQuest can go from the box to the rack in mere minutes.
The detachable power cable (PQ-415 for the 303; PQ-715 for the 505 and 707) uses AudioQuest’s high-purity Semi-Solid Long-Grain Copper conductor metal in which strands are packed more tightly and never change position within the bundle, significantly reducing strand-interaction distortion. Long-Grain Copper further minimizes distortion caused by grain boundaries that exist within any metal conductor. Direction-Controlled Conductors ensure induced noise is dissipated and drained properly — away from the system’s vulnerable circuitry.
The PQ-715 power cable, which ships with the PQ 707, takes noise-dissipation further by incorporating AudioQuest’s ZERO-Tech for uncompressed current transfer and RF/ND-Tech, which minimizes circuit misbehavior by canceling induced RF noise.
The PowerQuest 707 also adds Transient Power Correction, in which a current reservoir delivers up to 45 amps peak on-demand power for any amplifier, providing the current the amp needs to produce thrilling dynamic contrasts, bass extension, and control.
PowerQuest’s important protection features include Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection and Extreme Voltage Shutdown, keeping itself and the attached valuable components safe from common daily micro-spikes as well as potentially catastrophic power surges. Non-Sacrificial Surge Protection withstands multiple strikes of 6000V or 3000A — the maximum that can survive through a building’s AC electrical panel — without damage. Extreme Voltage Shutdown activates the main circuit relay in under 0.25 seconds when presented with 140VAC, and automatically resets once that incoming voltage is within a safe range.
US retail: PowerQuest 303: $459.95; PowerQuest 505: $699.95; PowerQuest 707: $1,299.95.

The T66 is the first model in GoldenEar’s new T Series. While it boasts several significant refinements of the company’s time-tested design concepts, the T66 is undeniably a GoldenEar loudspeaker, placing beautiful sound and music before all else. And while the T66 is perfectly suited to stereo systems, it also functions seamlessly within multichannel home theaters.
The T66 honors the critically acclaimed Triton Series, sharing a similarly tall, slender profile; built-in DSP-controlled subwoofer amplification; and a driver complement comprising GoldenEar’s High-Velocity Folded Ribbon AMT tweeter, cast-basket mid/bass units, quadratic planar radiators, and long-throw powered sub-bass section.
Several important cosmetic and sonic refinements distinguish the new T66 from previous GoldenEar speakers. These include a dramatically augmented crossover design, direction-controlled internal wiring by AudioQuest, a new cast-aluminum base and metal grille, and, in addition to GoldenEar’s Gloss Black cabinet finish, a vibrant Santa Barbara Red.
Designed for performance and beauty, the T66’s tall, slender cabinet contributes to the speaker’s holographic imaging and is proportionately the strongest cabinet GoldenEar has ever made.
Inside the cabinet, a powerful magnet and motor assembly make the T66’s folded-planar-magnetic tweeter clean, clear, and very efficient. Critically finessed wool felt on the mounting plate and elsewhere minimizes diffraction and bounce distortions. GoldenEar’s most sophisticated crossover ensures flat, +9-octave frequency response. Bypass-caps subjected to AudioQuest’s proprietary PMO (Permanent Molecular Optimization) process bring unprecedented clarity, and AQ’s direction-controlled wire enhances signal transfer while also reducing RF noise.
On the rear panel, separate Bass and Treble binding posts — another first for GoldenEar — significantly reduce current modulation in the treble. For convenience, the speakers arrive with high-quality gold-plated PSC+ jumpers.
A sturdy and attractive cast-aluminum base features conical aluminum feet that are easily adjustable from above and can be fitted with either steel spikes or rubber tips.
US retail: $6,900/pair (Gloss Black); $7,200/pair (Santa Barbara Red)

JVC announces a free firmware update for its current line of D-ILA projectors that includes the second generation of the company’s acclaimed Frame Adapt HDR to deliver a significant boost in HDR picture quality. With the firmware update Frame Adapt HDR, which analyzes HDR10 images on a frame-by-frame basis and performs optimum tone mapping, provides higher quality than ever and a more three-dimensional picture. The update will be available in mid-November.
Frame Adapt HDR, which was first offered in October 2019, instantaneously analyzes the peak brightness of HDR10 content for each scene or frame using a unique algorithm to automatically adjust the dynamic range to the optimum for video projection. This function dramatically improves the reproducibility of HDR content on projectors and has been highly praised by home theater fans around the world.
The new firmware update incorporates second-generation Frame Adapt HDR, and with this enhancement the tone mapping algorithm is fundamentally reexamined to suppress the peak white information in the high brightness area and produce HDR images with higher definition and a more three-dimensional appearance.
Additionally, for the DLA-NZ9/RS4100, DLA-NZ8/RS3100 and DLA-NZ7/RS2100, which are equipped with JVC's unique BLU-Escent laser light source technology, the light source adjustment steps have been increased from three steps to 100 steps. This allows the brightness to be set more precisely according to usage. In addition, a new function lets users back up the main unit settings to a USB flash drive in bulk, a major convenience.
JVC's dedication to quality extends to its projector lineup, where precision engineering and meticulous attention to detail shine through.

In the next installment of Kordz’ popular Technology Demystified series, Kordz kicks off a four-part exploration of the evolution of HDMI technology, delving into the significance of each version of the ubiquitous yet easily misunderstood backbone of AV connectivity.
Since the first version of HDMI was introduced in the early 2000s, this technology has become ubiquitous in modern AV device connections. Seamlessly transmitting high-definition audio and video signals and supporting foundational technologies like ARC, HDCP and CEC, it has played a pivotal role in the progression of the AV industry. Still, with each new iteration, HDMI becomes increasingly complex to comprehend.
To help AV integrators make sense of it all and better understand the progression of this ever-evolving connectivity solution,Kordz has authored a comprehensive, insightful guide to HDMI. The next article, ‘Demystifying HDMI: Understanding the Numbers’,delves into the significance of each version, starting by looking back at HDMI 1.0 and how it laid the groundwork for future versions including HDMI 2.0 and HDMI 2.1.
This free guide covers the key features and capabilities supported by each version of HDMI. The thorough yet easily digestible resource leads readers through HDMI’s journey from the introduction of HDCP and 1080p enabled by HDMI 1.0 to 4K from HDMI 2.0 and 8K and beyond via HDMI 2.1. AV integrators can see where HDMI has been and where it’s heading to make better informed choices.
“HDMI has undergone a remarkable transformation since its debut in 2002 thanks to the dedicated work of many pioneering leaders in our industry. With nearly 12 billion devices equipped with HDMI technology now shipped since the release of the first HDMI specification, its impact and prevalence has been nothing short of extraordinary,” says James Chen, Kordz Managing Director.
“Yet, more than twenty years later, many integrators can still be bamboozled by the terminology and technicalities of the different versions and have problems identifying which devices are correct for which job. As one of the brands that helped solve HDMI’s early connectivity woes, at Kordz we want to ensure AV integrators have all the facts to understand HDMI’s evolution and the significance of the HDMI version numbers they deal with today. This next chapter of our HDMI Demystified series provides a solid, detailed overview.”
In future chapters of the series, Kordz will cover additional aspects of HDMI, including the differences between HDMI cables, the endless alphabet soup of HDMI features, and HDMI certifications, so stay tuned.

Monitor Audio Anthra Series
Monitor Audio’s Anthra Series is a highly anticipated range featuring a trio of high-performance powered subwoofers engineered with a focus on musicality, bass extension and control. Through applying expert acoustic knowledge and solid design principles, the Anthra Subwoofer Series delivers devastatingly deep bass with musicality and agility.
Impeccable build quality, intuitive controls and a user-friendly app round out an exceptional package. Plus, the enhanced flexibility that a standalone series offers enables a user to select a subwoofer independent of a speaker series, with their choice instead based on price, performance and their system’s requirements.
For the first time ever, Monitor Audio has utilized Rigid Surface Technology II (RST II) in their subwoofer driver cones. All 3 Anthra models feature RST II, which significantly increases cone rigidity allowing the radiating surfaces to resist the mechanical bending forces that can twist the shape of conventional driver cones, which can distort sound.
The Anthra W15 is the largest subwoofer within the series, and it features a 15” RST II high-excursion driver powered by a massively powerful Class-D 1400 Watt amplifier. The Anthra W12 sees a 12” driver powered by a Class-D 900 Watt amplifier, while the smallest subwoofer in the series, the Anthra W10, sees 425 Watts driving a 10” cone.
The rear panel on all Anthra subwoofers provides a comprehensive variety of connectivity options, such as RCA with LFE, to allow daisy chaining up to four Anthra subwoofers. XLR inputs for professional installation options are also included, and they too also allow daisy chaining up to four Anthra subwoofers.
No matter what the volume, Anthra subwoofers deliver optimum performance and an extremely accurate and clean dynamic range, enhancing your enjoyment of both movies and music. It’s controlled bass you can feel.

The high-performance CPU in the RF Explorer Pro enables fast frequency coordination calculations, real-time interference monitoring, and intermodulation analysis right out of the box. And features a rich set of inputs and outputs including USB-C power, USB 3.0 for data export and network connection.
RF Explorer Pro can be remote controlled over any network connection by connecting an Ethernet adapter via USB.
“As more devices compete for less spectrum, the ability to visualize and monitor RF signals in real time has become critical for wireless audio,” says Regan. “A tool like the Pro allows you to operate with confidence in any environment.”

Symetrix is proud to announce the immediate availability and shipping of its newest system control product, the T-7 Glass touchscreen.
“The response to our 5-inch and 10-inch touchscreens was phenomenal and this new 7-inch model rounds out the line,” said Quinn Klarer, Symetrix Product Manager.
The T-7 Glass features a 1280x800 pixel high-definition screen with best-in-class brightness. These IP devices can connect directly to PoE-enabled switches—forgoing the need or an external power supply—or to a digital signal processor using an included PoE injector.

The entire T-Series line leverages Symetrix’s award-winning SymVue graphical user interface authoring technology, allowing control screens to be created, tested, and simulated before being deployed.
“The T-Series has been deployed all over the world in multiple languages,” said Ty Hawley, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This new addition allows our customers and partners to create amazing experiences for end users at just the right size and price.”

In another important and well anticipated announcement for the newly released and upgraded NetworkHD 120 series AV over IP lineup, WyreStorm is pleased to add the NHD-124-TX Quad Encoder to this state-of-the-art solution. The new encoder is a 4-Input AV over IP Transmitter over 1GbE Network utilizing H.264/H.265 encoding technology, an important and prominent milestone to complete an end-to-end solution for installers and end-users, further leaping into the future of AV signal distribution over IP networks.
The new NHD-124-TX is a 4 input to 4 network stream device encoder compatible with the NetworkHD 100, an ultra-low bandwidth H.264/H.265 AV over IP solution for distribution of point-to-point, one-to-many and many-to-many over a managed network.
