Introducing D-Tools Payments Webinar

D-Tools recently held a dynamic interactive webinar that answered many of the pressing questions integrators have about the new D-Tools Payments, a secure, fully embedded solution designed to streamline payment processing directly within the D-Tools Cloud environment.

D-Tools Payments in D-Tools Cloud is a fully embedded payment solution.  D-Tools Payments provides a complete, integrated experience for managing and collecting payments within the D-Tools Cloud environment. The solution is the newest addition to D-Tools Cloud, the company’s cloud-based end-to-end business management software.

Co-presenters Shenelle Spence, director of sales for D-Tools Cloud, and Adam Holden, head of Payments at D-Tools, ran attendees through the inner-workings of D-Tools Payments, covering everything from the easy onboarding/underwriting process to the transparent transaction fees, faster ACH payment processing and detailed reporting.

“D-Tools Payments is our own fully embedded solution,” says Holden. “It is not an integration, meaning it is a step further than an integration. There aren’t any third-party portals that you have to sign into, there isn’t any sort of external reporting that you are going to have to reconcile with D-Tools Cloud.”

Spence notes to integrators that D-Tools Payments is just another example of D-Tools “remaining committed to your success and laser-focused in continuous improvement.” She adds that it coincides with the goal of D-Tools Cloud, which is to “grow your business revenue. Our goal is to speed up your quoting process, make it easy for your clients to sign your contracts, and reduce the amount of software you use daily so your processes become more streamlined.”

D-Tools Payments Webinar Answers Integrators’ Key Questions

Among the questions posed by attendees in the presentation were:

  • Does D-Tools Payments mean we can kick Quickbooks to the curb? (No, you still likely need Quickbooks for your back-office accounting, bookkeeping and tax purposes, but if you are using Quickbooks Payments, you can use D-Tools Payments to replace it. Holden indicated there will some enhancements coming to Payments in the fall that will help automate the integration with Quickbooks.)
  • Is it easy to manage two different bank accounts in D-Tools Payments? (At the moment, the funds are deposited only to a single bank account.)
  • Can we accept different types of payments? (Yes, you can choose to accept some payments via credit card or ACH, or if you have large deposits that you want to be wired, you can turn off D-Tools Payments and put in the wire instructions.)
  • Can we set up automated recurring payments in D-Tools Payments? (Yes, you can set up recurring payments within D-Tools Payments versus having to use Quickbooks or another third-party processor.)
  • What if the client wants to pay with a paper check? (Integrators can obviously still accept checks and deposit them in their bank account per traditional routine, but they will need to go back into D-Tools Payments and mark that invoice as paid and note in the account that a paper check was collected.)
  • Can the processing fees be added to the invoice so the customer pays those? (Holden says that ability is being worked on and is planned for the fall update of the software.)

D-Tools Payments joins an array of new capabilities made to D-Tools Cloud, which now includes service management, project management, intelligent visual quoting, interactive system design, change order handling, sales pipeline and CRM administration, multimedia proposals with e-sign and payment collection capabilities, in-the-field estimating, product procurement using supplier-authorized integrator-specific pricing, as well as scheduling, time tracking, and task management.
