D-Tools SI Boosts Integrator’s Profit by Up to 10%

It’s rare when an integrator can identify a single solution that makes a dramatic impact on the bottom line, but that’s exactly what Chuck Breaux, president of Assurance AV Solutions in Mandeville, La., says about his company’s use of D-Tools System Integrator (SI).

“The use of D-Tools has increased our efficiency, which goes to the bottom dollar, by about 5% to 10%,” says Breaux. As part of its normal process, Assurance AV Solutions communicates with its current clients every Friday to check in on the status of a project, and at the end of every project gathers the full documentation on the installation to present to the client. As part of that process, the company had a staff person who spent time poring over websites, downloading product manuals and creating files. Within D-Tools that entire function can be done using the software’s Submittals operation.

“What used to take her two to three hours to do is now done in less than 5 minutes,” comments Breaux.

Assurance AV Solutions first adopted D-Tools SI back in 2020 when Breaux was looking for an industry-specific software solution that would help the company streamline its systems and processes. Prior to adopting D-Tools, Assurance AV Solutions simply printed out its offers to clients from Quickbooks, which really was not a refined proposal with a description of the project.

“We needed to find something that was going to help us grow, and also become more efficient,” says Breaux. After getting a demo of D-Tools, he adopted the software, noting, “I haven’t looked back since.”

D-Tools Training Has Been Key

As part of adopting D-Tools SI, the team at Assurance AV Solutions received comprehensive training on the software, even sending some of its team to a D-Tools regional training event in Atlanta.

“There was an opportunity for us to go to Atlanta for an in-person, three-day training course. That was worth its weight in gold. If we had left after the first day, we would have gotten our money’s worth. The lessons that we learned there and are still implementing today have enabled us to spring so far ahead,” exclaims Breaux. He specifically cites the company’s use of the Packages option in the software, the ability to create cleaner purchase orders, and integrate Visio drawings on every project.

In addition, Breaux took advantage of the opportunity to buy into D-Tools’ training blocks. That remote training has enabled the company to get its product catalog properly set up and to understand and adopt more efficient workflows.

“We are more efficient now. Profit is up. Confidence among the team is higher. We are putting a better proposal in front of the client. It’s been great,” says Breaux.
