The use of D-Tools Cloud has been an ongoing evolution for the entire team at AudioWorks, a custom integration firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company has had its full staff integrated with D-Tools Cloud both in the field and in the office since 2019.

“The proposal side is awesome and has been for a long, long time. It is awesome. Once the catalog was tailored to our specific way of doing things, building accurate proposals are a drag and drop type event. It is extremely easy, and errors are few,” says Matthew Irvin, AudioWorks president.

However, the expanded business management operations modules in D-Tools Cloud are quickly becoming the top feature that Irvin likes.

“It has helped AudioWorks be incredibly efficient in the field because we kind of have a one-stop shop. It is as close to one piece of software as we can find right now as far as service, projects, change orders… everything,” comments Irvin. “Change Orders used to be a pain for us, with the Change Order management system in D-Tools Cloud, it's easy to track changes as they occur on the jobsite and get approval from the client when needed.”

AudioWorks, which is a member of the Azione Unlimited buying group, has been in business since 1980 serving both residential and commercial clients with everything from private home theaters to full smart home automation to security systems. The company works with a slate of well-known suppliers, including Control4, Artnovion Acoustics, Draper, Savant, DMF Lighting, Hunter Douglas and Fortress Seating.

The Alternates feature in D-Tools Cloud has come in especially handy for the company to build out good/better/best proposal options for clients. Irvin recalls how one customer called to relay that AudioWorks was the only integration company to offer a tiered solution. He says the client said he actually felt like he was helping design the system from scratch using the Alternates feature in D-Tools Cloud.

“Instead of three separate proposals, we used our standard design but gave the client options for displays, speakers, etc. This gave the client the power to choose while keeping our design intact. What powerful Alternates feature won that job for us,” exclaims Irvin.

Irvin highly recommends that integrators who are seeking an end-to-end business management software solution take a look at D-Tools Cloud.

“Try it out, or talk to somebody who is using it,” he advises. “It has evolved over the years from just being proposal-generation software. It is as close to a one-stop solution as I have found in this industry and the tools they keep developing in it are fantastic.”
