Question 1

What Is the D-Tools Product Library?

Question 3

How can I request products or suppliers not currently in the D-Tools Product Library?

Click here to request a supplier
Question 4

Frequency of pricing updates per Vendor?

The D-Tools data team updates product and pricing information on a daily basis based on getting information from our vendor partners. Updates on specific vendors involves a number of factors, including how often products and pricing change, and how often vendors provide information to us. You can see the latest updates from the home screen of the Data Library in SI or the Catalog screen in D-Tools Cloud.

Question 5

Which Vendors supply specific pricing tiers and which provide “standard” pricing?

Most of our vendors provide us with specific pricing tiers. Currently the only standard or “base” pricing that we have is for Legrand brands.

Many suppliers will have special pricing reserved for their top dealers so there is a chance with every supplier that a dealer’s pricing may be lower than what we are showing on their approved price tier without us knowing.  We allow suppliers to add an additional discount percentage on any price tier provided that the dealer gets the same percentage discount on all products.  A user has the same abilities for applying a flat discount off all products by using a price rule within SI or D-Tools Cloud.

Question 6

Which Vendors have realtime API-based pricing integrations?

Current API suppliers:

  • ADI
  • Almo
  • Expert Warehouse
  • PSA
  • Savant
  • Windy City Wire

Question 7

How do we find the last updated date(s) from our vendor partners?

Our data team updates data and pricing from our vendor partners on a daily basis. Updates on specific vendors involves a number of factors, including how often products and pricing change, and how often they provide information to us. You can see the latest updates from the home screen of the Data Library in SI or the Catalog screen in D-Tools Cloud.

Question 8

What frequency do we suggest for customers to schedule price updates in SI?

Daily.  We update supplier pricing on a daily basis so setting this to daily updates will ensure that you always are working with the most current pricing.

Question 9

What frequency do we suggest for customers to schedule in Cloud?

There is currently no function to schedule updates in Cloud.  Anytime a dealer cost is displayed in Cloud a real-time call is made to our pricing server to show the most recent price.

Question 10

Who provides MSRP?

MSRP pricing is available from D-Tools i3 partner brands that have published MSRP pricing.  Not all brands offer a MSRP price.

MSRP is ONLY made available directly from the product manufacturer – no MSRP pricing is collected from distributors.

Question 11

How is MSRP added to my catalog from the Product Library?

MSRP is an attribute of the product data available from the D-Tools Product Library and is updated in the same method as any other product attribute like description or dimensions. For SI that means if MSRP is available it will be downloaded as part of the product information. Users have the option to elect which attributes can be added/updated. For D-Tools Cloud the MSRP will be provided as part of the selected products to be added to the user catalog.

Question 12

Do we provide scheduled library updates to the catalog other than pricing (images, MSRP, etc)?

Not currently.

Question 13

Do we provide MAP?

No.  Very few suppliers provide that info right now (less than 5%).  However we have had that as an active feature request which we will continue to monitor as more suppliers begin to provide this type of pricing.

Question 14

Which Vendors provide UOM and provide proper cost per unit of measure (each, feet, unit, etc)?

That is information we cannot provide at this time. We receive a wide range of information form our vendors and for those vendors who do not supply us with a specific UOM the default is "each." As we continue to improve our data management tools and processes we hope to be able to be more specific about the amount of information provided by our vendor partners.
