CinemaTech, known as the industry leader in theater seating and sofas, has seen our dealer partners have great success with our new Estrella sofa that debuted at CEDIA 2017. The Estrella is hand built in Germany and was designed to function like theater seating while looking like a sofa. It features multiple seating widths, arms, wedges, five metal colors for the legs, inclining seats, chaise lounges and most importantly, separate controls for the headrest and footrest/incline. The sofas come in leather, fabric or a COL/COM and are the perfect fit for any room of the home.
CinemaTech also continues to see its dealer partners grow their project’s scope and revenue when taking advantage of CinemaTech’s Design Services Program (DSP). The main reasons for this success are due to the fact that CinemaTech gets involved early while the client still has a budget for the best seating and acoustics, the design program gives the client time to get to know the CinemaTech design team allowing for the design to be what they want for their theater room and the client typically visits one of CinemaTech’s showrooms in Los Angeles, Dallas, Denver and Fort Lauderdale during the process and can see the quality of the seating and acoustic treatments first hand. Through the DSP program, the client will receive a consolation with CinemaTech’s design team, conceptual 2D drawings of their floor plan, ceiling plan and elevations, assistance with picking materials and finishes and photorealistic 3D renderings of their room.

Luxul Introduces Control System Drivers for PDU-2, PDU-8, and PDU-16 Intelligent Network PDUs
Drivers Deliver Seamless Integration of PDUs With Control4, Crestron, RTI, Savant, and URC Systems for Power Control Over Connected Devices
Luxul, the leading innovator of IP networking solutions for AV integrators, today announced that drivers for all major control and automation systems are now available for the company’s PDU-2, PDU-8, and PDU-16 intelligent network power distribution units (PDU). The new drivers enable seamless integration of the PDUs into Control4, Crestron, RTI, Savant, and URC systems, allowing any programmable capability to include power control over connected devices.
Developed by RTI, Savant, and Luxul in partnership with Middle Atlantic Products, the drivers allow devices plugged into the PDU-2, PDU-8, and PDU-16 to be powered up or down as part of scheduled and triggered events. In addition, they provide users with convenient outlet control to power-cycle locked-up components locally using hand-held remotes, touch panels, and other controllers or remotely via control-system apps on mobile devices.
“There is a high demand for control over all home and office electronics through one unified system, and with these new drivers, integrators can easily meet this demand by seamlessly integrating our PDU-2, PDU-8, and PDU-16 into the control system of their choice,” said Mike Grubb, vice president of marketing with Luxul. “Now, any programmable capability can include power-cycle control over connected components, whether it’s automatically resetting an Apple TV or scheduling the satellite/cable box to power-cycle on a regular basis.”
The PDU-2 features two individual IP-controllable outlets; the rack-mountable PDU-8 features eight controllable outlets and one noncontrollable convenience outlet; while the PDU-16 offers eight controllable outlets and eight additional noncontrollable outlets. Fast and easy to set up, the Luxul units allow for the local monitoring and rebooting of unresponsive devices, while their self-healing function performs reboots automatically to avoid costly truck rolls and service calls for integrators. Power management features for the PDUs include MOV surge and spike protection for connected equipment in addition to remote sequencing for controlled startup and shutdown.

Ultimate Discretion with Audiophile Performance
Monitor Audio’s IV140 Invisible In-Wall speaker is a breakthrough design that delivers ‘best in class’ audio performance in concealed in-wall and in-ceiling applications.
The IV140 offers a unique solution to designers and clients who want to listen to high-performance audio but also want to preserve the interior aesthetic. The IV140 fits into all conventional 4″ stud bays, leaving enough room for cabling. Once installed and skimmed with plaster, the speaker is completely out of sight, with paint, light wallpaper or fabric hiding it from view.
The IV140 features a large low-frequency transducers for punchy, high power bass along with two high-frequency transducers which are bonded to a flat, soft polymer membrane surface to produce sound vibration. This two-way design also features an integrated crossover in the same way as a conventional high-performance speaker to generate a wider frequency range. The result is crystal clear sound quality with smoother overall frequency undulation, balance, and character.
The audio experience is further enhanced by Monitor Audio’s unique hybrid back box design for the IV140 which isolates sound and ensures consistent, controlled performance, regardless of placement. This rigid back box reduces sound emitted from the rear of the speaker, minimizing leakage into adjoining rooms.
The design effectively limits low frequency below 75Hz which can be a major asset, especially when the IV140 is deployed in home cinemas with an additional subwoofer. For projects where more low-frequency extension is required, the rear cover can be removed to create an open back speaker.

SnapAV Introduces Media over IP Solution
Binary MoIP makes it easy to install and manage a reliable solution that can be custom configured to fit any job.
Binary™, SnapAV’s exclusive media distribution brand, has released an all-new HDMI over IP solution. Binary’s 900 Series Media over IP (MoIP) system delivers reliable, 4K UHD content with HDR support from countless sources to countless displays.
MoIP includes a B-900 transmitter, receiver, and controller, making it infinitely scalable and able to be used in both commercial and residential settings. Some competitors offer a confusing assortment of products, but MoIP features a focused lineup of three SKUs for added simplicity and affordability.
“Binary MoIP eliminates all of the complexities of deploying IP based AV distribution systems,” said Brian Holden, Senior Director of Media Distribution. “For the matrix switcher buyer, we’ve made it so easy that they can confidently make the transition. For IP customers, it’s a way to save time and money. This product has it all – it can be quickly and easily set up, it’s scalable and flexible, it delivers reliable 4K, and it’s OvrC enabled.”
According to Holden, dealers frequently complain about how long and complicated typical AV distribution setup was. But with OvrC, simple setup, and intuitive user interfaces, a dealer using MoIP can go from power-on to picture in 5 minutes or less
OvrC, SnapAV’s award-winning remote management platform, helps quicken initial setup by auto-discovering the controller. Plus it provides unparalleled troubleshooting tools after a dealer leaves the job, like real-time video screenshots.
Traditional matrix switchers have limited inputs, but Binary MoIP allows dealers to fit, scale, and upgrade the solution to their client’s specific needs.
Continued Holden, “From basic 6×8 configurations to video walls and robust systems with dozens of endpoints, dealers can deliver an expandable, future-ready solution where new displays and sources can be added to a job by simply adding additional MoIP devices. No need to replace the entire system.”
And while matrix switchers force dealers to downgrade all source content to the lowest video quality that works, MoIP encodes the best video possible and then downscales it at displays to support a blended system of 4K, 4K HDR and 1080p displays.
“Our engineers put MoIP through tortuous testing over numerous months, conducting real-world testing with dozens of dealers to ensure we deliver the ultra-reliable solution they’ve come to expect from Binary,” said Holden.
The system supports three methods for controlling sources and displays, utilizing RS-232 over IP, customizable 2-way IR routing and CEC. Plus, it includes drivers for today’s most popular control systems, including Control4, Crestron, ELAN, URC, RTI and more.
Concluded Holden, “From setup to support to scalability, there’s just nothing like MoIP on the market today. This will open the door for a lot of dealers to confidently make the move to IP – which will help them continue to grow their businesses.”
