– D-Tools CMO, Tim Bigoness
From my earliest days at D-Tools, I found our company to be open to customer input and feedback, and then taking that input and applying it as part of our product development process. Most of this early feedback (about 13 – 14 years ago) would take place at the various industry events and trade shows, and often would be delivered “enthusiastically” by a customer that had encountered something that was not working correctly or by a missing or poorly executed feature. While not always an optimal delivery (nor necessarily what we wanted to hear), we would manage to take this input and work to make our next version better, easier, and more intuitive.
Customer input is critical to helping us build better software and helps us focus on what’s most important when prioritizing new features on our roadmap. Our mission has always been to deliver solutions that ultimately improve our customers’ business, and it is best served when our customers let us know what’s working and what not.
D-Tools is introducing new ways to connect with us in order to ensure customers have more of a voice to provide input for future products and services, and share experiences and best practices with peers.
- We’ve implemented a new feedback system for both System Integrator and D-Tools Cloud. These feedback portals, powered by Canny, enable users to view our product roadmap, report bugs and submit feature requests, as well as “vote” and comment on suggested features and roadmap items. This tool is a great way for users to let us know what’s important to them and often tips the scales when deciding what the D-Tools development team should work on next. Our product teams monitor these feedback portals regularly.
D-Tools SI users can access the feedback portal directly from the SI Start page in the “feedback” tab, or visit https://feedback.d-tools.com/.
D-Tools Cloud users can access the feedback portal by clicking on their user icon in the lower left corner of the D-Tools Cloud navigation bar, or visit https://feedback.d-tools.cloud/.
- D-Tools is launching a new user forum, which enables customers to share ideas, discuss best practices, and get tips and tricks from their peers in the D-Tools user community. Launching at the end of this month, the new D-Tools forum will enable users to post topics, follow threads, and learn from each other. Sign up for the new D-Tools forum by visiting https://d-tools.com/forum_signup/.
- D-Tools is also forming a D-Tools Customer Advisory Council that brings together a select group of customers to solicit together.
The D-Tools Customer Advisory Council will provide a forum to share challenges and solutions to low voltage system integrations, and how D-Tools software can serve to improve operational efficiency. The D-Tools Customer Advisory Council will officially launch this quarter. Customers interested in participating should contact their D-Tools Customer Success Manager.
